The UK is a successful and fast growing subsidiary, with a current market share of c7% and an ambitious vision for future growth. Increasingly unique within international FMCG organisations, the UK business enjoys an autonomy and license to operate, with scope to independently set and pursue its own growth strategy.

Alongside this there is a unique culture, which is actively nurtured, to ensure everyone is able to achieve their potential.

Solution

Alumni Harvey Nash are extremely proud to represent Lindt & Sprüngli , working extensively with the UK & Ireland business over the past 5 years to successfully appoint several key members of its leadership team, as well as providing on-going support to key projects for the HR team via our Leadership Services Practice.

Peter is a pleasure to work with, I particularly value the honest, straightforward conversations and believe mutual benefit and partnership are at the heart of every interaction we have.
— Charlotte Moss - HR Director Lindt UK & Ireland

Our core activity has been Executive Search, often working confidentially, to identify talent that could thrive in the Lindt culture and have the capability and potential to be key members of a growing business for the medium to long term.

Our relationship has spanned working with three CEO’s, whilst actively partnering with the HR Director and wider HR team, to ensure that mandates were delivered in line with expectations. This has involved the provision of a full wraparound service including, where appropriate, benchmarking internal talent with the external market.

Results

We were delighted that at the end of 2020, one of our first appointments, the appointed Retail Director, celebrated 5 years in role, developing the UK store footprint and establishing herself internally as a “retail expert” within the organisation.

Equally, we were delighted to see the progression of another of our appointments to Marketing Director and member of the leadership team, having initially joined via a search we delivered in 2017 as a Marketing Manager.

Alumni Harvey Nash appointed Lindt UK’s first Supply Chain Director, working with the business to evolve the role and establish the core skill set required in the appointed candidate. We are pleased to say that individual has successfully been in situ now for over 2 ½ years.

Most recently, during 2020, we supported the appointment of a new Sales Director as part of company succession planning.

All of these appointments, their longevity and progression in the organisation, and the continued dialogue with the UK business demonstrates the open, honest and transparent approach we have endeavored to create in partnership, providing reach into FMCG and ultimately being successful in appointing strong “cultural” fits for the organisation.
