Global Managing Director, Healthcare & Higher Education

Frank is Global Managing Director for our Healthcare & Higher Education practice.

After a Degree in History & Philosophy, his career started within government in London at the Department of Education & Science where he worked in policy development for the UK’s national examination system. He then held a series of senior management roles over a 10 year period at the British Medical Association ranging from Head of Negotiations & Policy for the UK’s 33,000 GPs to Head of Private Practice & Professional Fees which had responsibility for national negotiations with UK government departments, the legal profession and private sector employers on non-NHS related activities for 100,000 UK doctors.  His career at the BMA concluded with fours years leading industrial relations and employment representation for doctors involved in contractual, legal and disciplinary disputes for the London region.

Frank was then an Executive Director of Human Resources, Communications & Organisational Development at two separate Acute University Hospitals in London within the UK National Health Service before joining Alumni in 2006.

With an extensive background in healthcare policy, negotiations and professional services he has significant global experience of appointing CEOs, Chairs and Board level Executive Directors, Pro-Vice Chancellors, Deans, Senior Academics and Senior Medical & Clinical staff in a range of settings and systems.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and, between 2011-2017, was External Governance Advisor to the Royal College of Nursing, Europe’s largest professional membership body.  He is Editor/Author of ‘The GPs Guide to Professional and Private Work outside the NHS’ Radcliffe Medical Press, 1996.

Frank leads Alumni´s international Healthcare and Higher Education activities with significant and recent experience in North America, Australia & New Zealand, Europe and the GCC/Middle East regions.
