Recruitment of Global Sales Director
Our client, a privately-owned manufacturing company with offices and customers in more than 20 markets, was not growing its business nor developing its customer proposition in accordance with expectations. After a thorough review of the organisation, the CEO and the board of directors decided to introduce a new senior role, a global sales director and Alumni was engaged as the search partner.
Together with CEO and the HR Director, Alumni defined the role, core priorities and a subsequent candidate profile. Given the impact expected of this new role, the board of directors was also involved as a key stakeholder in this process.
Based on this, we initiated a search process across the relevant industrial sectors focusing on the Nordics since the headquarter is located in Sweden.

After reviewing some 100+ potential candidates and 14 in-depth interviews, we had a strong shortlist which also included a stand-out candidate recently looking to relocate from North America to Scandinavia. Given the stellar quality of this candidate, he was fast-tracked and met with the CEO and the HR Director within a few days after the shortlist presentation. After also meeting the chairman and key representatives from the owner, he was given an offer which he accepted and could start after only a few weeks.
Now in place, the hired candidate has initiated several new processes, new KPIs as well as an on-going assessment of the sales organisation.
