We are searching for a Founding Director who will share our bold ambitions for the Institute and who will be focused on driving forward new partnerships and collaborations, internally and externally, across a diverse range of public health and wellbeing challenges, and across geographies. Our Founding Director will be comfortable working within a ‘start-up’ environment with a strongly ambassadorial focus, and will bring a creative energy to interdisciplinary and inter-professional ways of working. We are looking for someone who is a true innovator, able to think differently about public health and wellbeing and, within the context of Essex, who can creatively lead the institute, bringing together different and new research collaborations, external partnerships and people. The Institute is a major investment for the University. It will have a physical home, and the Director will be supported by: a University-funded Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme (from AY 2022/23) and PhD students; funds to support visiting scholars and practitioners; and professional services support, including an Institute manager to ensure that the Institute will flourish.
