HistoryAlumni was founded in 1990 by three individuals, two of whom - Magnus Tegborg and Anders Cedermark - are still partners in the business today. The aim was to create a completely new market by applying the search method to a completely new target group: young academics with high potential. The company quickly became recognised as an expert in finding rising young stars, primarily within the 'new economy' sector and IT/telecoms. During the 90s, the search sector was revolutionised thanks to tools such as the internet and databases.
In 2000 Alumni raised its ambitions significantly and began a major drive to widen its service offering and become a leading consultant within both external and internal leadership services. Concepts such as Talangerbjudandeâ„¢
were created and in 2002 our first Management Audit was carried out, with 200 participants. At the same time we were expanding geographically in Sweden, opening branches in Malmö and Gothenburg.
Alumni's aim of tracking high-performers throughout their career resulted in further growth, and we carried out increasing numbers of recruitments at the highest level of executive management and for boards of directors. We now work with customers in all areas of the private sector, and the public sector. During the first decade of the new millennium we began to seriously challenge the sector leaders and by 2007 we had become Sweden's biggest executive search firm.
In 2007 we began a programme of expansion into other Nordic countries with the aim of establishing a leading position on all markets. We opened offices in Denmark and also acquired a company in Poland. In 2007 we also became part of Harvey Nash, thereby acquiring new colleagues around the world. In 2010, just in time for our 20th anniversary, we opened a new office in Finland and started business in Norway through acquisition of Bjerke & Luther. |
